Write back MFM sector image?

Post by Modeler » Tue Apr 03, 2018 11:39 am

Hi,

Is there an elegant way to write back an MFM sector image / type 4 i.e. from a standard 1.44 MB PC formatted disk using DTC? I gather there are tools to convert unsupported formats to stream files, which KryoFlux can write back, but is that the only way?

Would it make more sense to dump the source disk as a CT Raw image / type 2 and save as an IPF as these can be written back? Would that work with a DS/HD disk?

Thanks.

I have used the conversion feature in the HxCFloppy software to generate KF raw files from disk images to write back some disks for experimentation.

I think it was able to generate ipf files aswell.
