Hi there.
I am about to convert a flux stream of a game called w.a.r that someone sent me.
What I'd like to know is: which profile should I use? and does it matter which one I do use? I've looked at the resulting .xml file containing all my image profiles, and they all look the same, they all seem to have similar or exactly the same settings. The only thing that's different about them is the name of the profile and extension.
Cheers.
btw: Thanks for creating a wonderful product.
questions about image profiles
Re: questions about image profiles
My guess would be whichever would create an image using similar parameters to this command line:
If the game is single-sided:
DTC -m1 -fwar -i0 -fwar.g64 -g0 -k2 -i22 -l8
If the game is double-sided:
DTC -m1 -fwar -i0 -y -fwar.g64 -g2 -k2 -i22 -l8
I've asked others to chime in - just in case

Re: questions about image profiles
Yes, the default image profiles in the GUI are only different in the "image type" - anything else you need to change yourself.

Re: questions about image profiles
Hi again. I don't know if it's the drive that took the image, or the buggy g64 support, but the game won't load. it's a sync check protection and it crashes on track 34. Is there a way you guys could establish what the problem might be? IE, is it the stream or the g64 support?
I'm not sure if putting the stream up on my web space is legal, so I thought I'd ask you guys if it was ok before I did this.

Re: questions about image profiles
Yes, if you somehow send the stream files archived, it is possible to see if there is any problem.
Re: questions about image profiles
Just send the link via PM, so no one will know it except you and us.

Re: questions about image profiles
Problems found:
1, if you want to preserve that game, you really should dump every track. In the archive odd numbered tracks (aka half-tracks) are not dumped.
2, The track data is bad for the last few tracks: the disk should be redumped from 62.0
3, Please always use the slow firmware with 5.25 drives. They may seem to work with the normal firmware, but the drives are usually too slow to read reliably that way.

Re: questions about image profiles
Thanks for letting me know about that. I'll tell my friend to use the slow firmware and dump all the tracks and refer him to this thread.
Cheers.
