Had decided that there was NO WAY I was going to operate my board without some significant protection (as a rule I don't operate bare board electronics without some level of casing/protection)... Just how I deal with ensuring I won't have any unfortunate accidents.
Anyways, this is the solution that I came up with:

After a bumpy start forcing Windows to accept the Kryoflux drivers, I'm happy to report this a unmitigated success, both in operation and in my successful casing of this great board.
Now I'm off to backing up and duplicating my personal collection of Commodore software.
