What problem? The initial problem (first posting from joejoetheclown) of this thread wasn't a real problem but a misinterpretation of the GUIs output!

If you are using 80 track drives to read 40 track disks, you should read every second track to get a proper result. The GUI does this by design an not by fault.

Did you test your copies? Do they read fine in ciderpress for example (http://a2ciderpress.com/)?

Dont be misslead by not all dots beeing green. Yellow/orange dots are okay as long as they are not red or grey ;-)

Or do you use 40 track drives, like joejoetheclown did? If you get orange dots do they have the letter T in the box? Than it is indeed a matter of stepping to the wrong (not expected) track!

The Apple II, and a few other formats *REQUIRE* that you use a 1.2mb (80 track) drive - and it doesn't tell you that. The only reason being that some Apple II copy protections can make use of half-tracks.

If you are using a 360k (40 track) drive, you will get the screen shown above. If you try to override the double step setting, the Kryoflux software will tell you it won't do that. It is illogical as you really should use a 360k drive for reading/writing non-copy protected Apple II disks. It is also problematic for data recovery as often a genuine 360k drive will have more success reading damaged sectors than a 1.2mb drive.

Use a 80 track drive please.
What is the result you get from drive calibration?
