Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
Hi All,
Before I purchase a Kryoflux device, I wanted to see if someone can mod a floppy drive to become a flippy drive for me? Then sell me the flippy drive. Or, I'm not sure if there are those who sell Flippy drive's to people? Or, is there someone who sells modified flippy drives? Or is the only solution I have to modify my own Flippy drive?
I have a lot of Commodore floppies I'd like to archive and/or transfer.
I'm willing to pay for a modded flippy drive. Once I know I have that, I'm going to go forward and purchase a Kryoflux device too.
Feel free to PM me if anyone can help out.
Thanks,
Erik

Me too... please PM me if you can sell a modified flippy drive
Re: Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
I think this might be of interest of many KryoFlux users

Re: Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
If you want to get a flippy modded drive you can contact the following users at the moment:
ZrX (Europe)
sncboom2k (US)
Additionally, Peepo is just offering to archive disks in the UK.
Please note, modding the drive is a lengthy process and these people do it in their spare time.

Hello there.
I have also advertised on the lemon forums for people in Australia who don't currently have a KF device who would like their original disks archived. If the demand is high, I'll extend the offer to world wide.
Cheers.

Thank you IFW.
I offer modded Panasonic drives for 110.00 (usd) plus shipping. I currently have a few in stock ready to go.
If you have a drive and need it modded and aligned - I offer that service for 55.00 (usd) plus shipping.
Thanks,
Sncboom2k

Re: Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
Just a quick note and recommendation for Sncboom2k. I had him repair/align/mod a Teac I already had as well as bought another Teac from him. Both are working brilliantly.sncboom2k wrote:Thank you IFW.

Re: Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
Just to make things a bit more accurate, I'm not actually selling pre-modded drives due to the hassle of sourcing suitable drives at reasonable prices but have been modding drives for others.
Also the Mitsumi/Newtronics DV509Vx drives seem to be "easily" moddable. A bit of metal has to be cut away, but then needs to be re-aligned afterwards.

Re: Kryoflux & Flippy Drive Request
Is there any kind of list that shows which drives are modifiable?
I have:
Mitsumi D500
Digital Systems DS-50F
Chinon FZ-506
Does anyone provide a kind of "modifiable service" or sells modified drives around Germany?

Contact ZrX, not in Germany, but still EU.
