Kryoflux just arrived yesterday and so far ive tested:
The good (tested and working, it read a couple amiga floppies nicely to ADF):
- 3,5", Sony (1,44m), MPF920-E, Tracks: 82 (no 0-81)
The not so good (both recognized by the board tho, but havnt gotten anything readable from them):
- 5.25", Teac (400k), FD-55BR 102-U, Tracks: 42 (no 0-41)
- 3.5", Teac (720k), FD-235F 112-U, Tracks: 84 (0-83)
Tried to read some C64 floppies with the 5.25" and it does seem to read track 0 ok (side 0) but the rest is "unknown".
Also tried the ancient 720k 3,5" but it couldnt read amiga floppies (to adf at least). Of cause both these old drives have multiple jumpers so perhaps its just me needing to change a few jumpers.
Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Got mine this week... :)
I've dumped a few test D64's on my TEAC 5.25" drive.. (I can't find a model number, just a part number on it)..
I've also done a test dump Amiga floppy with the 'preservation level' 3.5" drive I purchased...
All seems well!
For what it's worth, shipping was practically instant, for overseas shipping from Germany -> Kansas, USA.. 12/25/2010 -> 01/03/2011..
Looking forward to contributing more..
I was getting tired of having to set up the Amiga to do dumps.

That's not completely correct. The postage was printed on the 25th, but shipping happened on the 27th. So it was precisely a week which is really fast. I assume this has to do with postage restructuring over here which lead to cheaper shipping costs (now only 9.90 for overseas) and also makes all shipments priority as soon as they are signed for.RodimusFVC wrote:For what it's worth, shipping was practically instant, for overseas shipping from Germany -> Kansas, USA.. 12/25/2010 -> 01/03/2011..
Which is... cool.

It's very, very cool. I was honestly expecting a month or more. I often import music CD's from UK, Germany, Sweden, etc. (as most of what I like to listen to is not made in this country), and have to wait a ton longer for things to ship to me.mr.vince wrote:That's not completely correct. That means that when you guys get an add-on board or other solution for the 5.25" flipside/index hole issue available, I'll be able to order one and have it in a similar timeframe.

Chinon FB-354 (3,5", DD), works, tracks = 84 (0-83) [does not support fast firmware, needs 12V connected]
On a side note, this is the drive from my very first Amiga, bought 1991

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux
You may be better off with a HD drive

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux
Yeah, I'm using the Panasonic JU-257A143P as my main drive.
Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux
I've got a D359T6 here and it works okay, just dumped a standard Amiga disk on it to test, usingLizard wrote:3,5"
Mitsumi , D359T5 works(maxtrack: 83), however Mitsumi , D359T6 doesn't work here.
the normal firmware. Drive details are:
3.5" Newtronics (Mitsumi), D359T6, CM: maxtrack=82
Perhaps your drive motor or something is broken ? Do you know if it's a working drive prior to testing.
I've also been testing a number of Asmtrad 3" EME-156 drives and all but one now have belt or motor problems

Even though one of the drives dumped all my 3"s in my Amiga CAPS Rig.
Dunno if you got it sorted yet ?
