5,25" Y-E Data, YD-380B - 84 Tracks and work with Flippy Mode without modifications ;)

I was able to read both sides from a C64-Disk.

That sounds strange... did you get any *T warnings?

Nope only a Message when the Drive reads Track 0 , but i think this is normal.

I read a C64-Disk with Games on both Sides and the finaly created .D64 in Vice where ok.

This would be the first ever drive that does not need modding :)
As long as you don't get any *T messages from the format output (except for some protections) it should be fine.

Read and Write Work Fine, tested only on Amiga Format (Low and High Density)
3.5' - Panasonic JU-257-524P - (0-83) 84 Tracks
3.5' - Panasonic JU-257A606P - (0-83) 84 Tracks
3.5' - Sony MPF920-E FEB2003 - (0-83) 84 Tracks
3.5' - Sony MPF920-E FEB2006 - (0-83) 84 Tracks
----
PS: After some Test, i have noticed the Panasonic JU-257A606P work better on Old Amiga Forced HD (The DD media used making an "hole" on left side),
the Sony don't like wery well this media when they have 20 year or more...

Hi,

again regarding 5,25" Chinon FZ506, Rev.A (with 13 jumpers):

works for me with the following settings:
Jumperposition 13 to 1: (x=jumper set)
x..x......x..

So it means drive is DS1 and termination is off..
This config works both for single drive mode and for 2 drives on the cable.

For the list:
Tracks: 84

"New" unmodified Y-E Data YD-380B here, and seems to be working perfectly with C64 originals. No *T warnings or anything either.

Just to confirm, do I understand right, that this drive reads both sides of C64 flippy-disks without modification!?

Does this also count for the YD-380 or just the YD-380B? Does anyone have an YD-380 and could check that?

Just purchased this. I'll let you know if/how it works for me regarding C64 flippy disks without modification.

JanneG or Stanglnator, does any of you guys know how to set this drive to DD-mode?
