Timeout while waiting for device initialization

Please be more specific. Red is a power LED but green is a status LED. This means if the green LED is on there's software running on the board which can only be sent to the board if there is a connection. What further puzzles me.... There's no firmware from us that turns on the green LED unless it's talking to the drive. It is never just "on".

Well when I connect it and give a command with dtc the grenn led turns on after a few moments it says that timeout error when i try the command again it say that the device is not connected but it still is.

Does pressing the small reset button on KF have any effect?

You mean the green LED does not go off while you press the reset button!?

Are there any USB-Hubs involved (even inbuilt)?

Did you ever tried the kryoflux hardware on another machine (just to sort things out)?

No luck on other machines unfortunately. But the green LED turns of when I press reset but it still didn't work.

Just to be sure, the flash erase jumper is not closed?

And possible power rail select jumper is on the outer 5V position?

If the green led stays permanently on and doesn't fade in and out after the first issued command something is wrong (corrupted firmware file, replace from the original package...?).

The jumpers are all on the correct position like I've got it back in 2016.
