Firmware v3

Post by Dominus » Mon May 21, 2018 8:10 pm

Hi all,
just a question that nags me after downloading the new version and reading up on available documentation.
It mentions a new firmware that is installed automatically.
The manual says that to install a firmware it needs to be named firmware.bin. The file that comes with the new software is called firmware_kf_usb_rosalie.bin. Is this the new firmware?
And how is it being used or flashed automatically? Which commands need to be passed by dtc to trigger a firmware update?

The firmware isn't flashed. It is downloaded onto the device when you use it, until you remove the USB. It's in RAM, like e.g. your browser.

If it's working, and DTC isn't complaining, all is fine.

Additionally, the name of the firmware file is indeed firmware_kf_usb_rosalie.bin.
I think we may have to clarify in the manual that firmware.bin is not the actual file name - thanks :)
