Thanks for looking into it. If someone can get specs out of it that would be great. I tried disassembling it without a clue - is the memory location to start $F800 ?

Hmm, these images don't match with the layout ZrX found out! It's 8 sectors with 512 byte per track!

Would be better to upload (or provide a link to) the kryoflux raw files...

So, I downloaded the files and looked at them. I fully agree with ZrX's investigation!

But the decoded image files have a different layout. As mentioned earlier, the sectors contain 512 bytes and there are only 8 sectors on each track. Where did you get the images from?

They don't look as the are created with the kryoflux software. Neither kryoflux nor HxCTools can decode the raw files, because of the non standard sector layout (as far as I can see).

Well, my friend and I are new to the kryoflux System. We used a 1,2MB 5,25" floppydrive and the preconfigured settings for raw Data (I don't remember the settings Name)
That's it.

The disks are physically 16 Hard sektored.

How do you come to the conclusion of 512 bytes and 8 sectors (which essentially is the same amount as 256 bytes and 16 sectors)?

The system might ofcourse use 512 bytes of 8 logical sectors, but the disk has 256 bytes of 16 physical sectors, which are decoded on the imagefiles. 256 bytes x 16 sectors x 80 tracks x 2 sides = 655360 bytes.

The imagefiles were generated with my own tool, placing sectors according to the header information of each sector.

Well, I didn't see that these have been pure images without any header information as they didn't had the typical .img extension. I just throw them on the HcX-tool and it did assume a standard sector lenght of 512 byte! Which is wrong...

On the side of firmware ROM, about half of the space is used for keyboard routines.

From powerup it prints the "QUESTAR/M" message and then waits for the keyboard for 4 different commands, T, C, B, G.

It expects 0 to follow B, but can possibly handle other parameters with it aswell (I find Z80 assembly somewhat complicated to read).

It then proceeds to perhaps fetch data from the floppy but for that part I couldn't quite get my head around it. I don't know how much the floppy / hard disk controller card I've seen sitting on top of the motherboard processes the raw data before delivering it to the motherboard.
