Post by breiztiger » Mon Sep 07, 2015 5:16 pm

i have dump pc 360ko 40tracks game and i want to write back to another floppy disk

i've dump with a 1.2mo 80 tracks floppy (epson sd-600)

can i write the Stream with the same floppy drive (with 40 tracks in a 80 tracks) or i must have a 360ko 40 tracks floppy drive ?

if yes with wich option in dtc command line to tell the drive to write with 40 tracks (-ks2)

thanks in advance

As i explained to you, 1.2mb HD 5"1/4 drives rotate at 360 RPM.

The disk you want to write was written on a regular 5"1/4 360kb drive rotating at 300 RPM.

you need a 5"1/4 360kb double sided drive rotating at 300 RPM in order to write back the game.

You need a drive that is fully capable of writing DD disks.
1, use a drive with 48 TPI head
2, use a drive with 96 TPI head/stepper, but the disk must degaussed or shouldn't have ever been written to before.

- you must use a genuine DD disk, not a HD one
- if using a HD capable drive, you must find out which density line setting corresponds to the DD mode of the drive and use that

The disk rotation speed used for reading and/or writing does not matter - the host software compensates for the differences.
