Hm. Could gave gotten damaged in transit, or specific anomaly. I must admit that we could not test drives for writing, writing is pretty sensitive, e.g. slightly misaligned index signalling can get you in trouble. So even though the drive could be well suited for reading, it could have gotten a bump.

DTC can not inform you if the write was good because it does not have verify yet. It just does not know if the write was good. So what should it say? "Maybe your write is good"? :)

Please redump the disk you wrote with the NEC in the other drive that makes good writes. Use

DTC -ffilenamehere -i0 -i2

and email me for FTP login details.

We'll find out what's wrong...

"Write done." / "Done" could be enough for end user. Typically good software gives clear response after something is done. Now the response is just empty prompt.

Use -l15 to see what happens.

Yeah, from my mail to our beta testers:
mr.vince in his mail to to beta testers wrote: Now for the fun part:

dtc -fname.ipf -w
You want to see what's going on, so add -l15
Set track range with -s -e if needed.
Thank allmighty Google for patronising you.

That's clear as mud but my point was to give information when done if -l15 parameter is not used. Now user cannot know if it ended normally or stopped by some other reason. It is true that -l15 tells when track 83 is written and you can be sure that writing is completed. For example if girlfriend / wife stays quiet when asking something it stands for problems ;).

Won't change in beta, but will in final version. You aren't even using the final writing framework, just something that IFW "hacked" together quickly. I find it amazingly stable (not one crash so far).

Can anybody tell me, why some people post that they can write back their IPF's to Disk?!
Are they all beta-testers for the version or is new version already available for download?

I would be happy, if I can try too cause I have so much damaged disks.
