IPF DECODER LIBRARY sourcecode released

Post by mr.vince »

It's taken long, and we really appreciate your patience. We have chosen to use a modified MAME licence first. We really encourage you to ask us if you feel you need the source licensed under a different licence.

The release currently has two forks, one for the main release and the other for the ports. A later release might merge both, but we felt it was more important to get it released instead of further polishing it.

Enjoy. If you like it, please consider donating. Thanks!

EDIT: Get the latest rev. 5.1 here: viewtopic.php?p=7624#p7624

Note that this also includes IFW's cycle exact, low level WD177x emulator that works at the signal, not command level. This took quite some investigative work digging up the appropriate datasheets, and a huge number of hours by multiple people in testing, including many many hours spent verifying the behaviour of real hardware. There is a lot of information in the WIPs about it - we think it is pretty neat!

Looks like there are some problems with that archive.

Indeed, filesize was correct. Reupped, should be fine again. Sorry, would love to say I broke it, but have no idea. :-|

Anyway, it's good now!

That's weird, the original file worked fine for me under Linux! It compiles too but I can't find any IPF file to test it with...!

No, I reupped it the next day because of a comment to add the copyright line to the main file as well. People might overlook the licence file if placed in some repo. Although their problem, I thought it would be nice just in case...
