1. The personal information we collect
Personal Information you provide to us
This personal information is provided directly by you when you sign up for an account on our forums.
Membership details: a chosen username, password and email address.
Communication and marketing preferences: information about how you choose to manage your communications from us, like when you subscribe to a thread or receive a private message from another user. Also, when you forget your password the system will, at your request, send you an email with instructions regarding how to reset your password.
It is important that any information you provide directly to us is accurate and correct. Providing false or inaccurate information may result in restricting or cancelling your account.
Contact and device information
Some of the information we collect will be obtained during the course of your interactions with us, for example through the devices you use or when you contact us, including:
Social media: information obtained if you access our website through a third-party connection or log-in, for example, through Facebook Connect, by “following,” or “liking”. This information could include; the user ID associated with your account, information you have permitted the third party to share with us, and any information you have made public in connection with that service. You should always review, and if necessary, adjust your privacy settings on third-party websites and services before linking or connecting them to our services.
2. How we use your personal information
We use your information to enable you to use our forums. This includes sending you emails, when you subscribe to threads or receive a personal message from another user. We might also use the information to contact you, in case we need to, e.g. when we assume your account has been compromised or similar. We don't use your information for anything else.
3. Sharing of your information
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, for example by order of a court. We might also exchange your personal information with affiliates and subsidiaries (e.g. KryoFlux GmbH in Germany, which is operating our webstore) if you ask us to do so, e.g. by generating a specific support request which would result in a shipment being sent to you.
4. How long your information is kept
Due to the nature of the service – a forum – the data stored is meant to be kept online „forever“. This does not apply to your personal information, as the email address associated with an account can be removed at any time if you request us to do so. At this point we will also remove any additional personal data stored, e.g. IP addresses.
We will, at any time, modify, correct and remove any personal information once you instruct us to do so. This does not apply to general, non-specific or non-personal data, which is found in regular postings. The intention of a forum is to gather and store information, create a resource, and make it available to the public. Also, please note that there are web resources, like e.g., but not limited to, archive.org, which will index and store websites and their information. We do not have control over such services which means that we're unable to remove data from their repositories. Only post on the forums if you understand and accept the above.
Lastly, we will also store your personal information to meet our statutory obligations as required by the law.
5. Where your information is kept
We're a company in the UK. Our hosting provider is IONOS Limited, with servers located in the UK and Germany.
6. Your rights
You have a number of rights in relation to your personal information that you can choose to exercise at any time.
You have the right to:
Access information we process about you and to obtain a copy of the information.
Object to us using particular information, or using it in a particular way. You can let us know what you object to and we will consider whether we can grant your request.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete your information if we no longer have a lawful basis for processing it.
Port data to another data controller or to yourself in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
Your right to file a complaint
