The effect of -dd0/-dd1 option

This is the result of what a floppydrive outputs when dumping the same C64 floppy alternating using the -dd0 and -dd1 switches on DTC.

X axis are all the tracks from left to right of a single side.
Y axis is flux change width increasing from bottom to top.

Wouldn't it be nice to see DTC switching by itself to the other mode and vice versa if a read attempt fails? That would be a great feature for the format alligned modes!

Interesting idea actually, but only if it's optional, e.g. on some drives simply produce noise in one setting...
It is also worth keeping in mind that it requires 500ms+ to reliably switch the density line not to mention RPM switching (usually) between 300 and 360.

This is an interesting idea indeed. Do you think what you're suggesting could be done easily?
