Hello
I would like to back up my C64 disks with cryo-flux.
Would like to have my floppy disk copy on both sides, but only an index hole.
How do I modify my drive in order to be able to copy the disks on both sides.
Use the Floppy TEAC FD-55GFR
hope you can help me
am very inexperienced

Stefan, such mods are not trivial. It requires some dremeling or at least re-alignment of the heads which only works with an oscilloscope and an analogue alignment disk (this alone is USD 150 these days).
I'd recommend finding a technician nearby.

You may look at this video to get an overview about the work which is involved:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcqluH7dEj4
If you don't want to read both sides of the disk in a single pass and if you are willing to flip the disk, you only have to fool the index sensor or put a second one in place of the flip disks hole to keep the drive running...

Unfortunately I did not understand English and have problems with the translation.
Yes i liked so that I must turn the disc by hand. I don't want to index a 2 hole on the floppy disk.
Would like to replace the sensor, only the index How do I do that?

You problem is covered and solved here:

Even if it is talking about the catweasel-system the solution is is also usable with the kryoflux! Ah yes and it is a german forum

As you use the FD-55GFR you may try this solution also:
http://www.oldskool.org/disk2fdi/FLIPPY.htm
Unfortunatley you have to run the google translator again

Page 9 to 13 of the attached link may also be of interest if searching for a simple way of faking the index signal on a flip disk:

Re: modify drive Floppy TEAC FD-55GFR
Use only a proper, flippy-modded drive for backing up original C64 disks - do not use the fake index signal etc. solutions as you will be wasting your time and your disk surface as well in many cases.
If you are archiving normal user written disks, it does not matter though for 99.99% of the scene disks except for a few copy-protected scene disks... don't ask

Re: modify drive Floppy TEAC FD-55GFR
Yes, of cause the index signal will never be alligned to the original position using theese fake methods. It just keeps the drive spinning! Which is enough in most cases...

Unfortunately, i understand most of this is not correct, since my bad translation Translation Program.
Is there a way to convert my floppy, it is possible to archive a double-sided floppy disk. Or is there someone of this makes ?
Stefan
