Why my 360K disks dumps are in 720K files

Post by Alex »

I started to dump my old 360K disks and when I select "MFM sector image" in the GUI, I end up with a 720 KB .img file. The content of the dump is correct but the last half of the file is filled with zeroes (#0). How, with the GUI, can I output 360K .img files instead? Thanks!

In the GUI you have to set track distance to 40 track. On the command line you have to set double stepping with"-k2" (supposed you are using a 80track drive).

If you are using a 40track drive you have to add -oe39 to limit the output.

So I used a copy of "MFM sector image" to which I added "-oe39" to "Other Params" and it seems to work fine (I'm using a 0..41 tracks drive). Am I missing something?
