Help with Lexitron SSSD dump

Post by redruM69 »

This is a flux dump from a late 70's Lexitron word processor CP/M-85 boot disk. I believe the disks are 80k, 35 tracks, 18sec/track 128b/sec, single sided FM.

I cant seem to get any data decoding out of these dumps. Can anybody examine and help? I'm using a DD drive, and have tried a couple of different drives too. Are these disks toast?

The format is 35 tracks, 18 sectors per track, 256 bytes per sector and single sided MFM.

Still somewhat custom format, non standard syncs and checksum seems nonstandard aswell.

Thanks for the info! I'm surprised to hear I got the sec/track and encoding wrong.
However, if I try to dump an IMG with those settings in the DTC GUI, it still loads gray tracks, and results in a zero byte file.

You can't get any data decoded because the disk is in a non-standard format.

This is as much I could manually decode. As the checksum routine is unknown there's no knowing if the data is ok.
