Strangeness when creating MFM image files

Hi all,
I've been dumping a few disks lately and I've found some strange problems. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on the matter.

Seems randomly at present as I cant recreate the problem on demand. When dump 1.44mb floppy disks I use the parameters:
0: KryoFlux stream files, preservation
4 : MFM sector image, 40/80+ tracks, SS/DS, DD/HD, 300, MFM

When I check the image under Winimage I get strange corruption on the some files. but the .raw files are fine. If I then run the .img file back through KF it seems to sort it out.

Here is a sample of the weirdness: http://www.mediafire.com/file/p05xloij9 ... e.zip/file

If you see the "version" file you'll see garbage on the .img but the .raw once written to disk again is fine. If you write the .img with win image or anything simular the corruption is passed onto the disk.

This has happened a few times now and I'm not sure if its something I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks,

What are the options you're using, or how are converting the dump to a disk imagefile?

I managed to find the problem. I'm normally using the CLI but I switched to the GUI for a change. I noticed I edited the KF RAW dump template and it was set to 40 tracks instead of 80. That then corrupts files on the MFM image as I suspect its creating the image from those KF raw files right?

Was suspecting something like that as after generating the image myself they went different after the first track and were different until 720k mark.
