How to extract files from 360k PC diskette image file

Post by Peter » Sun Sep 09, 2018 11:46 am

Hello,
using a KF I have generated image files of my old DS/DD (360kB) diskettes (Verbatim) with settings to limit the number of tracks to 40, spin rate to 300, and high line density. The results (360kB *.img files) can be mounted with DOSBox, but apart from a single meaningless DIR, I don't get to see any files.

I used the GUI, and the log file contains this command sequence:
./dtc -l15 -fstud/track -i0 -fstud.img -n0 -k2 -v300 -p -i4 -r5 -d0 -p -e41 -t10 -r10 -dd1

Before I send the raw files... Am I missing something vital here?
How can I get to read files from these *.img files?

Thank you for any tips!
Best,
Peter

You may use the HCX-Tool for that purpose. It includes a file browser to get them off the floppy....

I think DOSBox-X and the SVN builds of DOSBox actually support these.
