"still being worked not"... Freudian slip? (just kidding!) For now, Happy Easter, and, pressure or not, remember it's a holiday and please spend some time with your families.

Re: IPF and Openness

Well, I guess "it's done when it's done", but whatever you do I'm very much looking forward to it. Also to write support, even when it's not yet at 100% in the first release that does it.

Re: Bad sector repair

I think that probably you'd have to be constructing sets of hypotheses about what certain parts of the signal are supposed to "mean", together with likeliness estimates for each hypothesis. And then you'd have to solve for the overall most likely set, or small number of sets that are then ...

Re: Windows 7 Driver issues

I am contemplating just giving up and hooking it up to my mac instead, but then again giving up isn't any fun :) Usually there should be an option like ...

Re: Flippy success! (well, almost)

First of all, and what I forgot to say in my last post: thanks for your generous help with all this!! It just means that it was slightly misaligned in the first place... I assume that by "it" you mean the refusal to read certain disks even before I moved the stop? Well, does this square wi...

Re: Flippy success! (well, almost)

So the possibilities are: - it is not formatted from there, but unlikely (have you checked with another, unmodified drive?) - there is something blocking reading the track data or moving the head properly from that point on either side of the disk - the electronics blocks seeks above say 83.5 The p...
