Re: Problems writing back to floppy disk

I've been busy, but since I saw the post here I finally took a quick look at them. The "structure" of the protection on these disks looks the same as MusicPrinter Plus 1.1. I tried the commands listed on the winworld forum to try converting to a PSI file for PCE. Sideman D50 and Sequencer MKIII ran,...

Re: kryoflux-ui.jar with macOS 10.13 and JDK 9

The Apple 400k/800k encoding was used on the Apple II with ProDOS, P-System, GS/OS, and probably others, as well as the Apple Lisa and the Macintosh. I think there was also a way to stick AppleSoft DOS in there, but I never used that. (Probably why they say "DOS" on that list) The Kryoflux can decod...

Re: Kryoflux with Macintosh 400K & 800K Floppy Drives

Why then are "Apple DOS 400K/800K" disks mentioned here as being compatible? As you know, the only way to get 400K or 800K onto single sided 3.5" media is to use a variable speed drive mechanism, which is exactly what the Macintosh 128K and 512K used. There are actually THREE different ways to read...

Re: kryoflux-ui.jar with macOS 10.13 and JDK 9

That is a list of supported formats, not drives.

If a machine used a standard media type, you don't need its drive.

Re: Kryoflux with Macintosh 400K & 800K Floppy Drives

I don't know how that works on a Mac, but in Windows all I had to do was double click on the JAR file from Windows explorer, or create a shortcut to the jar file and place it on my desktop. Normally the Kryoflux GUI will start even if no Kryoflux hardware is connected. This lets you analyze or conve...

Re: convert 360ko dump with a 360ko drive

I would also recommend the flux/secor decoding tools that come with the PCE emulator. Totally command line based, and rather complex, but they can be quite powerful when needed.

Re: Problems writing 720kb PC booter

I'm sorry you are having problems with this, but the root problem does not appear to be the Kryoflux. At a glance, the two test dumps you just made look OK, so your setup seems to be working. Your original dump contains the same couple of tracks over and over again. Since everything else seems to wo...

Re: Problems writing 720kb PC booter

In the first dump, the tracks are repeated over and over. It looks like the drive head is not stepping properly. Verify visually that the head is stepping at each track. Check your power and interface cables. Sanity check the operation of your setup by dumping and writing a non-copy protected disk. ...

Re: Imaging 100TPI 77 track Exidy Sorcerer disks on a Micropolis 100TPI

B is just because the Kryoflux software does not know about 77 track drives. It tries to seek to the 80th track, fails, and assumes a 40 track drive. As long as you manually specify 77 as the max tracks in the GUI, you should be OK reading disks, although there could be issues writing. On C, however...

Re: Read and write back image

Maybe I did something stupidly wrong but I don't think so. Do you have any idea what I did wrong ? You seem to be under the mistaken impression that imagetype "-i0" is a sector image. It is not. It is a flux stream. It is esentially a recoding of the floppy drives data out line. It contains flux tr...
