Re: Trying to get second drive to work.

Yes, that's needed.

If any of the drives is flippy modded please do not connect a second drive.

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

Indeed, the formats (all of them!) being documented is very important.

As mr. vince said we'll have a new DTC release soon (after testing etc); currently it's in its release candidate state.

Thanks a lot for posting about this problem :)

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

I've fixed DTC so it won't crash anymore with these broken stream files. The fix will be available from DTC version 2.72. However do note that the stream files generated are faulty and may cause other issues in some cases. There is no way to fix these files, other than fixing the program generating ...

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

In other words:
1, Don't build a 32 bit machine it just hides an error, but not with new dtc 🙂
2, The converter should be fixed, it is not safe to use bad stream files
3, Dtc shouldn't crash with the bad stream files though so I'll fix that

New dtc will be available soon.

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

It has nothing to do with 32 vs 64 bit... it's just a symptom, not the cause. Any recent beta dtc (not yet released, but will be available soon) on any platform crashes with the file you posted as well. I can confirm that this error is caused by incorrect index signal data in the stream generated by...

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

I've looked at this in a debugger, and so far what I've found: - there is something wrong with the index (or index referenced cell) information in the stream file generated by HFE; index calculations for the last revolution generated go haywire - probably some data that should be present is missing ...

Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

Is there a genuine, KryoFlux generated stream file that causes the same problem or is it always the HFE generated ones?

Re: Cassablanca Classic floppies

I'd recommend redumping the disks using -z3 -i4 as guide parameters, so bad tracks would get retried. If you decode spicerack 2 it has read errors on track 42 The last 512 bytes sector on each track seems to be just protection, but getting the 10x1024 right is required to dump all the data correctly...

Re: Cassablanca Classic floppies

Just checked Spicerack disk 1; looks like old-school PC protection, just on HD disk :)
However, the disk looks copied rather than duplicated...

Re: Some questions regarding Apple II flippy disk

1, Yes, that means both sides are read. 2, no, because the first 8 tracks (in 96 TPI) or 4 tracks (in 48 TPI) are missing from side 1. They are the data tracks at track -8, -6, -4, -2... that's why a modified drive is required for flippy disks - you should read tracks before track 0, which is simply...
