Re: How to create 360k image from 80track dump

Ah, just found it out. It has to go before the -i- This is probably the most annoying thing about dtc.exe that I always end up doing wrong...

How to create 360k image from 80track dump

Every single time I try to dump something I have to search the forums for the correct syntax of DTC. Except that this time, even the search turned up nothing :) I dumped a 5,25 DD disk (360k) using a HD disk drive (80 tracks) via the GUI. Now I want to convert the stream files to IMG. What's the cor...

Re: Windows 7 installation

The drivers are definitely the correct ones, I see the exact same driver files used on Win7, and for me KF works fine. Make sure that you follow the instructions exactly, the correct sequence of plugging in etc. is crucial, and on the first call to DTC.exe you will get a "USB disconnect" sound and o...

Re: Far out (useless?) idea: QIC-117 ("floppy tape") support

Nobody interested in adding support for QIC tapes to KryoFlux/DTC?

Re: DTC on Linux/PPC

One of the main problems I still see with KryoFlux/IPF/SPS/DTC are the non-clear distinctions between them and that there's no official "roadmap" for getting your own dumped disks into IPF format or preserved. I tried opening tickets in the past, asking for instructions how to get the raw files to t...

Re: DTC on Linux/PPC

No Drama, just the Devs stating their point (which is quite valid IMHO) and some people whining about it. Sure you could use detached signatures (even official lists of SHA sums would help), but that's apparently currently not much of a priority. it's most probably just lack of manpower (I hope). BU...

Re: DTC on Linux/PPC

The KF Devs won't release the source because they're afraid of people too stupid to use KF correctly and the world being swarmed with invalid/fake/bad dumps made from non-pristine disks. People have complained about this before but right now you'll have to just accept this (and I think you knew KF/D...

Re: Far out (useless?) idea: QIC-117 ("floppy tape") support

Okay, if you give me an address I can send you 1 or 2 drives (at least one of them probably still works) and a couple of tapes (for which I cannot guarantee that they still work or contain meaningful data), provided that I will get at least 1 (or both) of the drives (and the tapes) back at some poin...

Re: Far out (useless?) idea: QIC-117 ("floppy tape") support

A little bump for this topic. Are there any news about this? Did the KF-Devs get their hands on one of those tape drive units yet? I'm really interested in getting the data off my ageing tape cartridges, and while I'll be setting up a PC with one of these drives soon, I doubt that I can get all the ...

...Contact him through YouTube... Hmmm, I was under the impression that you were looking for this. I'm certainly not (I never heard of it until now), I just wanted to help by pointing out that there's currently a Yahoo! auction running, since you said you wanted to buy it. I would take a look next ...
