Re: KryoFlux GUI - How does it look?

I am keen on having stuff turned stuff off that you don't need. The interface is intended to be suitable for non-technical librarians and archivists to use, so the "default" view should definitely be as simple as possible. Getting disk name sounds neat. If anyone wants to code that up for us (in Jav...

Re: KryoFlux GUI - How does it look?

Firstly, thanks for your feedback! Yes, you definitely will be able to do calibration through the UI, but we've not added that yet. As to your other questions, maybe the "image profile" configuration screen will help explain a few things: Screen shot 2010-11-27 at 23.13.18.png The basic concept is t...

Re: KryoFlux GUI - How does it look?

Since it looks a bit different now, it might be worth posting an update. This may or may not change before the first public version. If anyone has any suggestions on the look, we are very open to suggestions.

Re: KryoFlux GUI - How does it look?

Work stalled for a while due to work commitments, but has now picked up again - we spent over 25 hours on it last week. It needs lots more development, but perhaps we can (maybe in 2-3 weeks) make a "very pre-alpha" version available for people to kick around to give us some feedback...

Re: Disk signature on "pre-formatted" disks

Yes, we certainly see a lot of that sort of thing with the games we have preserved within SPS. I wouldn't be able to give you any statistics, but it is definitely common, yes.

Re: FDI format support

Thanks for the suggestion. One of our highest priorities is getting DRAFT done, but once that is (and some other high-priority things), going from FDI to DRAFT would be of particular interest. I'm afraid I can't say when/if we will get around to it though, we have a lot of work to do. Maybe we shoul...

Re: Mac?

As for the 8" drives, we have been looking for them too, but unfortunately one at a "reasonable price" seems to be very rare. :(

Re: Look harder for firmware.bin

That is a good suggestion, and in fact will be helpful for the user interface (in development) also. I'll see if it can get added to the list.
