Re: Windows 7 - Kryoflux board not recognized

Look under COM Ports as it may be recognised as Bossa, or some name similar, then manually update the driver with the proper Kryoflux driver to see if that recognises it.

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

It's format guided so I guess the 'protected' tracks are not seen as DOS 3.3 so they show as unformatted, just like Amiga disks when they use custom formats and I speciy -i5, all those tracks show as unformatted. The copy protection, as stated in that article, was just changing the start of data byt...

Re: grey boxes when dumping

Win10 needs admin privileges now to write to C: so try dumping to another drive/partition if possible!

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Absolutely counts me out then :) Going back to Apple II dumps, I've just obtained another infocom title, Sorcerer, have dumped like I would C64: dtc -p -b-8 -fSorcerer(US)[AppleII]/Sorcerer[AppleII](1of1)_ -i0 -y -g2 -i8 -l8 Does that look correct knowing it probably has some form of copy protection...

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Right, so you still need some coding skills and experience on the platform you're scripting for, so a no go for me sadly :(

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

How much prior 'knowledge' do you require before you can attempt to write your own scripts though and how much info will there be in the documentation to explain this?

Re: Ripping Atari ST DSDD disks: seeking best practices

I dumped a mates ST disks using -i4 and fed the streams into a program called Aufit v1.3 by DrCoolZic that shows on a grid if the disk is unprotected (green) or protected/bad (orange), similar to the KF GUI! You could then redump any orange tracks to see if they turned green if you knew the disk was...

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Again, counts me out as I won't be able to write scripts. So once the new dtc is released we'll see how many people start creating/sharing their own scripts and hopefully, making scripts on request and creating a nice library of 'off the shelf' formats :)

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

I'm not a programmer so that's me out! Maybe asking Jeff to support for NIB in HxC could be doable, feed in STREAM export NIB? Also read on a 'competitors' forum he was working on a converter for NIB files but to date, no converter!

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

I was thinking DSK was like SamDISK that creates DSK imaged WITH copy protection, obviously A2 DSK images are not the same.

So how do we convert streams to NIB as not yet found anything that can do this?
