Re: Need advice on how to recover 5.25" floppy

You can also add -l8 to clean up the status output a bit.

And perhaps set -m1 as the first switch.

Re: Need advice on how to recover 5.25" floppy

Script is almost good, you're just trying to overwrite files with the same name there, so better use different target name than "track".

No need to delete the tracks past 83 as KF will ignore those anyway.

Re: Need advice on how to recover 5.25" floppy

You'd need to space the tracks from 40 to 80. track00.0.raw -> 00.0.raw track01.0.raw -> 02.0.raw track02.0.raw -> 04.0.raw track03.0.raw -> 06.0.raw track04.0.raw -> 08.0.raw ... For side 1 tracks you'd have to start from track 8 (track00.1.raw -> 08.1.raw) and you'll lose the first four tracks as ...

Re: Need advice on how to recover 5.25" floppy

I think I have a couple of DD drives. Should measure if there's any significant difference in the head signal between DD and HD drives when reading 1541 floppies.

Re: Need advice on how to recover 5.25" floppy

Either the disk is just bad or the drive that was used to write the disk is out of alignment. The drive dumping the disk has no problem with 1541s GCR-coding, the scatter plot shows the drive filter cuts off way below the fastest bitcells when looking at the noise from the unformatted tracks. The st...

Re: Errors Attempting To Write Stream Files

It could be that in the future reading with the following options everything works ok:

DTC -p -ffile_ -i -ffile.img -i4 -l8

Re: Errors Attempting To Write Stream Files

In the future reading those disks might work better if the parameters are set to values proper to the disk format so a blind reading wouldn't be a problem and the results are instant.

Re: Errors Attempting To Write Stream Files

That's a weird one. One can only wonder what in that setup could've messed up the data.

Re: Errors Attempting To Write Stream Files

Google for some Amiga ADF disk imagefiles and try to write one of those as is, then dump the written disk. If that works out then there shouldn't be anything wrong with your setup.
