Re: MFM Copy of CP/M DS/DD Floppy on 40T Drive

Track distance should be set to 80 in this case (= single stepping) and not 40 (= double stepping). A track distance of 40 is to be used when using a 96 tpi / 80 track drive to read a 48 tpi / 40 track disk and as a side note, there's generally no need to use a 40 track or DD disk drive to be able t...

Re: Creating multiple images

Please make sure to use different file extensions for MFM sector image and Apple DOS 400K/800K. When multiple image profiles (File->Settings->Image Profile) use the same extension, e.g. img, DTC obviously can't create multiple files with the same name.

Re: Convert g64 to d64

As G64 files created with KryoFlux reflect the data as really coming from disk it is not sync-aligned like G64 files created with nibtools. Pete has mentioned an undocumented -$ switch for nibconv on the C64PP discussion forums. When used, nibtools will sync-align all data before further processing ...

Re: Panasonic, JU-475-4AK0 Jumper settings

Look for something labeled 1E in the large rows of jumpers. According to some docs that can be found on the net this is a factory setting, i.e. my drive doesn't have a jumper but instead is hardwired. On your drive there should be just two small holes in this place.

Re: Dumping 1.2MB 5.25" japanese computers floppies

Have you used the drive for PC formatted floppies or any other floppy which could be read without any error? Could you attach the DTC log (logs can be enabled in the GUI settings) so we might get a hint what could be the problem?

Re: HD 5.25" question

As soon as DTC detects some sectors as being modified it doesn't necessarily mean that they have been modified by a former owner (e.g. modified volume name) or by the game itself (altered higscores). Disks that have been professionally duplicated and not altered afterwards don't show any modificatio...

Re: Sierra Copy Protection and Kyroflux

This is great news in PC emulation development... Indeed it is. Most of the earlier PC games appeared at the time when other computers have been more popular for gaming. For example I have never owned a PC which had a 5.25" floppy drive installed, so I'm very happy to be able to run games without t...

Re: trouble with a compilation disk from Ocean

I don't think that the disk is dirty, the m7bootlow dump shows noise throughout whole tracks. If it was dirty then larger ranges of each track should be more or less ok while there would be spots where the otherwise clear bands would spread and blend into each other. Also with really dirty disks qua...

Re: trouble with a compilation disk from Ocean

Please try again using the -dd1 command line switch, it helped me a lot with some disks that have shown similar problems before. And if you want a blind dump, just leave out -i6 and -i22 (i.e. any format that will accept and check CBM DOS sectors).

Re: Read one side in preservation mode

This should also work similarly in windows when typing the following from a DOS-prompt:
java.exe -jar kryofluxui.jar

Double clicking the jar file is usually just the same as launching with via javaw.exe, which does not open a console window.
