Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Yes, DD1 is correct for DD disks in your case. DD0 works better for 5.25” HD floppies.

IFW wrote ”This is due to the reduced noise level from unformatted tracks in DD mode.”. Smaller size stands for DD in this case.

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Rakki- I will take a second look at those disks you mentioned to be sure they aren't salvageable. Also, I took some group pics so you can see the labels. Thanks rcade, I appreciate your help. I can check only consistency for those unknown RAW steams and quality of signal etc. but cannot check the d...

Re: Kryoflux Floppy Drive + dumping Amiga floppies

Exactly. I do recommend to choose 84 tracks drive as it fits for all 3.5" disks. Often its also good to have 2 - 3 separate drives (different brands) as some drives do read better than others.

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Okay. Thats true with any 70's / 80's platform games - time is running fast and disks won't get better. They are still useful as all A2 dumps are now valuable so all good.

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Thanks. Some of those A2 disks do need cleaning based on graphs. Photos + info files are also missing? Checked few through and at least these may need cleaning and redumping. Anyways dumps are very good material in order to create user defined formats for A2 (ie. decoding for RAW data). Baltic 1985 ...

Re: How to dump IBM HD 5.25" Disks?

Re: Apple II disk Grrr.....

Cannot test right now but for Apple II please try dd0 / dd1 (drive density line) parameter. If the disk is not professionally dupilicated then also x-parameter (cell band search) might be good idea (see more from Kryoflux manual, page 28). Panasonic: dtc -dd1 -p -b-8 -f"TitleName/TitleName_" -i0 -g2...
