Device does not support Reset command

Hi, I've now with success used the KryoFlux with various drives and floppy formats (primarily 5.25") And I've noticed that when using certain 5.25" drives with KryoFlux I get the following error "Device does not support Reset command" It happens whenever the drive head it left in a outer position (e...

But that may take a week for me to get back to you.

followup: I can confirm that your suggestions in respect to ordering the cli arguments did solve the problem I had.

Thanks :-)

Re: Dumping single-sided disks from a double-sided 5.25 driv

I did actually read the whole manual - some six month ago upon receiving the KryoFlux unit. At that time my focus was quite different - I just wanted the basics done and get the unit operational. Re-reading the maunal and rediscovering the last pages of the manual - which I'd completely forgotten al...

Re: Dumping single-sided disks from a double-sided 5.25 driv

Sorry forgot to write that I'll of course try/test your suggestion. But that may tage a week for me to get back to you. I've left the KryoFlux at a the location of a local danish computer preservation society That is where the RC700 Picolo/ICL Comet system is stored - and I need to go back there and...

Re: Dumping single-sided disks from a double-sided 5.25 driv

Please use image specific parameters before the selected image type, ie: dtc -fdump.img -g0 -z2 -k2 -i4 Anything after an image type belongs to the parameters of the next image; some parameters can work for the entire session as well (depending on where they are set in the command line), such as tr...

Re: Scanning PC 5 1/4" DD+HD (DOS) floppy disks with KryoFlu

Was that the side/track distance thing? In that case the solution is posted now :) Well - I should have been more precise in my posting. The parameters mentioned above *did* solve my problem with dumping DD/HD 5.25" PC DOS/FAT formatted disks. Then I decided to move on and dump some 5.25" disks fro...

Would you mind sharing the command line in question with us? ./dtc -fdump.img -i4 -m2 -s0 -e79 -g0 -z2 -k2 backgroud info: I'm dumping disks for a RC700 Picolo system aka ICL Comet (http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=650&st=1) The RC700 system comes in different configurations - equ...

Improved log output

Hi, For the purpose of easier and better problem reporting it would be nice if the dtc command would log the options that were used on the command line. Redirecting stdout into a file would then preserve the vital info about how the dtc command was invoked. Preserving the whole "context" in the (log...

Dumping single-sided disks from a double-sided 5.25 drive

Hi, I'm no expert here - but dumping single-sided (SS) disks from a Double Sided (two heads) 5.25" drive seems to give me some troubles. the dtc (or the firmware) seems to ignore the -g1 option and scans boths sides no matter what the -gX option is set to... Followup: the suggested commandline parameters seems to work - but gives me a new problem.

I'll create a separate post for that problem.
