Bring a Kryoflux to Work Day.

Hi folks, Here's a picture of my setup at work: WorkRetro1.jpg The missus wouldn't really let me have all this retro stuff knocking around at home, although I've got a 3" drive using spacers in a 5 1/4" drive bay adaptor in our family PC ;-). To the left is my Amiga with PPC acelerator, hooked up wi...

Re: Disk Formatting

Sounds like it could be a drive alignment problem in one of your drives. I've seen this before on ZIP-100 drives on the Mac around 10 years ago. Also, does the Acorn Archimedes use variable drive speed like in the old Apples. I think we also had problems then with our staff using floppies and had pr...

Re: Amstrad 3" disks

Reading the back end of this thread, it was interesting to note that some Spectrum disks were duplicated onto used Amstrad 3" disks. So much so that in some instances you get Spectrum written tracks then following could be Amstrad left behind from a previous use. I guess 3" disks were expensive to s...

Re: Amstrad 3" disks

@r09 Yer, many Amstrad CPC disks are have protections schemes, more than found on the Spectrum +3. Batman the Movie on the Amstrad uses the Speedlock 1989 copy protection as looks like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15363623/BatmanTheMovie-Amstrad.jpg The Spectrum version uses Paul Owens copy-protect...

Re: USB PC Floppy Drive

For writing CPC/Spectrum EDSK files back to real 3" and 3.5" disks you can already do this with SamDisk: http://simonowen.com/samdisk/ Providing you have a relevant drive hooked up to your PC. It can even write copy protected disks back, but I forget how well it worked writing back to 3.5" or whethe...

Re: c64 datasette support

Hi Guys, Just got my Kryoflux board today and wondered a similar thing. I have a Shuttle PC that can boot into DoS and a small 4GB partition for use with MTAP to dump C64 tapes from my C2N Data Cassette using the adaptor. I've dumped hundreds of tapes in the past, but not in the last few years. We h...
