Re: Dumping Apple floppies ?

Rather than go to the trouble of getting an emulator installed ..I wrote the dumped raw images back to empty floppies with wildewutz and tried them one at a time in my AppleIIe .. of the 10 I dumped not one booted .. so I guess I messed up either with the dumping process ..or the write back process....

Re: Dumping Apple floppies ?

So..I used the dtc command switches you posted airnocker and dumped 10 disks so far .. some have shown errors as they dumped but most went smoothly, I noticed the dump included Raw ..text..and .IMG ... The .img file had size but nothing intelligable when opened with winimage. Is there any utility th...

Re: Dumping Apple floppies ?

Vipersan, I've done over 100 Apple II disk images, single and double-sided flippies, mostly DOS3.3 using this command structure for single-sided: dtc -f(diskname here).raw -i0 -f(diskname here).img -x0 -i8 -l8 -dd1 > (diskname here).txt Note: parenthesis are not included Many thanks .. I shall be t...

Re: Apple II & Atari 8-Bit image files.

I am hoping both AppleII and PET will eventually be added to the gui dump process. I dont have many of either but what I do have I'd like to preserve. At least with PET disks I can buy some time with my 8050 ...by coning the floppies.. Sadly not so easy with Apple as I only have one drive to use. an...

Re: Head cleaning ..

Started my homebrew solution to head cleaning.. It consists of a salvaged floppy disk sleeve .. A piece of High quality premium photo printer card cut to fit and the relevant holes made ..both for motor platter and sensor. 2 strips of sticky backed silk surgical tape. I chose this so as to be slight...

Re: Is this suitable for flippy modding ?

Really pleased with this mod/build so far .. I have just completed dumping of a 100+ double sided C64 disks. Custom notched non genuine flippies. At least 50 of which the content recovered to the point of being useable. Including a lot of code I thouht I'd never see again ..from my days writing Vic2...

Re: Is this suitable for flippy modding ?

Thanks again buddy..for all your help you are very patient. I guess my illogical brain misunderstood. My reasoning which I guess isn't correct ..is that setting flippy mode would automatically set 'both sides' mode. Even then I again wrongly assumed that unchecking sides mode ...setting both sides t...

Re: Is this suitable for flippy modding ?

Just checked the side mode..
both sides set by default.
So I guess it isn't that.
Just a suggestion ..
could you maybe try the same operation for me and if it works for you post DTC version and the settings you are using ?
big ask I know ..but I'm totally at a loss now.

Re: Is this suitable for flippy modding ?

Can't try till later on account I'm currently away from the drives.
From memory No ..
and I never saw a read attempt at side 1.
It behaved as though reading a standard CBM disk...side 0 only.
Perhaps a DTC version issue ?
