Re: Control command rejected by the device

Just thought of another thing: Is there a need for the driver to be signed code on Win-x64? (asked to SPS) I could install the driver on Win7 x64 without any issues and without using any dirty tricks or hacks (like enabling unsigned drivers at boot time). AFAIK it's only drivers that talk directly ...

Re: Control command rejected by the device

The slow firmware is part of the standard KryoFlux download. Just look through the directory structure. You'll need to put it in the same directory as "dtc.exe", and make sure it is named "firmware.bin"; before that, you might want to back up the standard firmware since it will have to be overwritte...

Re: Corrupted images?

I don't think you have a drive power problem then.

Do try the drive with a PC motherboard. Maybe it's just misaligned. KryoFlux can't read your disks if the drive itself is problematic. Rule of thumb: mechanics fail more often than electronics.

Re: Corrupted images?

Did you try connecting that same floppy drive directly to a PC motherboard? Were the disks readable that way? (try something like chkdsk /r to read the whole surface, if you're on a Windows machine) KryoFlux should run on a standard PC USB port (no need for an Y cable). But the floppy drive NEEDS IT...

Index position in 3.5" drives

Hi, this is not directly KryoFlux related but maybe somebody here knows anyways; I've got a 3.5" drive which I assume to have an index position adjustment issue - the glue is gone from the spindle screw and the screw seems to have been turned: 1.) In a 3.5" drive - am I correct to assume that the in...

Re: Can KryoFlux detect drive capabilities ?

Degaussing is the solution... Hmmm.... hold the 5.25" disk it to the screen of a CRT and let it go *ZING*? At least my trusty 21" CRT is very loud and pretty violent when degaussing. Or is that more bark than bite? No, DD and HD heads use the same track, so you won't run into this problem. We're ta...

Nope. At least not yet.

Re: Writing Amiga IPF's

If we want to investigate this, we would need to hook the 1010 to KF and make a stream dump. My best guess would be an alignment thing, which means you A500 fits both, but the 1010 and the PC drive are too much apart... Hooking the 1010 to the KF might be possible but it would involve building an a...

Re: Writing Amiga IPF's

In case you care to know, I found that KryoFlux-written disks (even those without any copy protection) work just fine in my Amiga 500's internal drive, but completely fail to work in an (older) Amiga 1010 external drive. However both Amiga drives can read each other's disks without any problems. And...

Ok, I'll make sure to use something more obscure next time... paq8px_v66 maybe?
