Re: Writing .D71 images
Well, solved it myself :) Rather complicated. But.... 1) Split the .D71 file 2) Use NIBCONV to convert to 2 G64 Files. 3) Write the second half to Side 0 4) Dump side 0 of the disk as a RAW file 5) Rename all the *.0.raw files to *.1.raw files. (Deleting the *.1.raw files) 6) Write the first half to...

Writing .D71 images
The only way I could find to possibly do this, was to cut the d71 in half (it uses side 0 ascending then side 1 ascending, iirc,) then treat them as 2 separate d64 images. Convert them to g64, then write the second half to side 1 without "flipping" it. I'm already aware that without the ma...

Re: Replacement discount?
Reinstalled the drivers just now. That was a bit of a nightmare... Seems a windows update ("Arduino Srl (www.arduino.org) - Other hardware - Bossa Program Port") replaced the "Kryoflux DiskSystem" entry with "Bossa Com Port ?" (? came up as 7 one time, 8 another.) After...

Replacement discount?
I've had my Kryoflux for 8 years now and haven't had a problem, until now. I dumped a set of disks I bought 2 days ago, but when I went to write a disk today it no longer recognizes the drive. I've now tried 4 different 3.5" floppy drives, a 5.25" drive, 4 cables, and 2 power supplies (all...

Re: Apple II & Atari 8-Bit image files.
Sounds like there's finally a better CP disk format :) Will have to try out some of (OK, the 1 or 2,) emulators that support it. Will have to get some images as well, though. I really only have 2 disks, but neither has an uncracked image available, and won't convert to anything usable with the Kryof...

Re: Apple II & Atari 8-Bit image files.
There are quite a few emulators capable of running copy protections. Many copy protected games for the Atari 8-bit systems required fairly precise timing to pass (why some of the mods of the day killed them.) Those same copy protected games load fine in Altirra (for example,) from ATX images. I'm no...

Re: Floppy drive selector board
Actually, you could connect up to 2 3.5" floppies as well as 2 5.25" drives. Most 5.25" drives have a jumper to select drive 1-4. Or 0-3 depending on the drive, but it amounts to the same thing, just add or subtract 1 depending on your viewpoint. The trouble with most 3.5" is tha...

Re: Modified Drive (old method,) move to positive on failure
I have a different drive model, but I can't find anything like that on any of the moving parts that are visible. It's possible there's something on the underside that I cannot see, but I would have to take the drive completely apart to get to that area

Re: Modified Drive (old method,) move to positive on failure
Well, I have most of the write issues fixed. Don't know how. I removed a metal shield to try and see if I could get a look at the T0 sensor (can't,) and skipped putting it back on while doing a write. Mainly to see if I could spot the T0 sensor then (nope.) Only, the write was going through just fin...

Re: Modified Drive (old method,) move to positive on failure
Oh, I thought you were saying there was a plastic piece connected to an actuator that moved to cover the sensor when the KryoFlux triggered below zero access. You are talking the small extension added to the "front" of the track zero marker arm on the head assembly. I would have to take th...
