Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

That would cost a lot more than the drive is worth :) I got it for free :D I can survive with the Teac. Yes, but we're really keen on finding out why my rev. here works, but yours does not... In the meanwhile I have tried the slow firmware with the Chinon FZ506revA too, and also different jumper se...

Re: Emulator I disks

Done. You can find the dumps and some additional information on the upload site. They were created with the -k2 flag set, because these are indeed 1981 disks with max 40 tracks, single sided ;) I couldn't use the -k2 flag for creating the Emulator II image from this disk though, DTC complained. But ...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Additional successful drives from my side:
3.5": Panasonic JU-257A393P (no jumpers), maxtrack 83
5.25": Mitsubishi M4853-342M (original Emulator II DD drive from 1985, DS0 jumper set), maxtrack 83

Re: Missing Index Error

I had the same problem with the same Teac drive and the Kryoflux. I didn't panic though because I immediately suspected that this drive was "in a deep sleep" due to not having been used in my computer for more than 2 years. In fact I encountered this kind of problem also on my vintage computer equip...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Maybe we get a chance you send it over and we have a look... That would cost a lot more than the drive is worth :) I got it for free :D I can survive with the Teac. Maybe I will try some other ones that I'll try to get from some friends and colleagues. Does it make sense to try 1985 DD drives such ...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

I have set the jumpers on mine like they were set on yours. No success. Then I tried many more combinations. No success. There's no light. Just 3 spins of the motor. No matter how the jumpers are set. Is interface pin 2 (of the 34 pins connector) being used by Kryoflux ? Because the manual of my Chi...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Hm. Any ligths or noise from the drive? If there's a disk in the drive, the motor spins a little bit, that's about it. No head movement. I had tried both DS0 and DS1, and both TM on and off. My drive has 13 jumpers, but yours seems to have only 9. Could you send me the labels of all 9 jumpers on yo...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

My disk drive has more jumpers than yours You win :D Can you please try some commands and activate full verbosity? E.g. DTC -i4 -l15 Please post here. Sure. Here are the results of the above command on my Chinon FZ-506 with jumpers 1, 2, 6, 10 and 13 set: 00037d96: status=0 00037daa: status=0 00037...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Our messages have been crossing each other :D The error you get... is this only happening with "-c2" command? Can you just try dumping a disk? With the -c2 but also with all the other ones. The jumpers that were set are: TERM (jumper 1), DS0 (jumper 2), jumper 6, MS (jumper 10), DC (jumper 13). I al...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Jumper settings are not so important, no. ...I meant the jumpers on the floppy drives, not the Kryoflux. E.g. my Rev A Shinon drive does not work but your Reb F Shinon drive does work. Maybe mine does too, but it has 13 jumpers. I tried the most obvious settings (like AT compatible) but maybe there...
