Re: What is best command to copy Amiga disks

Ah, my fault, missed the Academy post, whoops. All the dumps of disks with copy protection and unreadable tracks (eg. Hook, Curse of Enchantia for example) are all made with "-i0 -i2" the other games which decode all tracks with their respective sector dumpers are made with -i0 only. Is it still fin...

Re: What is best command to copy Amiga disks

Out of curiosity... if the disk is actually AmigaDOS, and all the tracks decode fine with -i5 without errors, something like this dtc -fyadayada -i0 -i5 is fine for preservation? i ask because all my amiga games are dumped like that (and without errors), and the manual didn't specify the use of -i2 ...

Re: 8" drive support

I'm interested! I have an 8" drive out of an old AS/400 and a bunch of old software i need to dump, but i still have to build a cable to connect it to a pc and a psu to power it: no time these days with university... Yet if i see that these drives get supported, i might get motivated enough to force...

Re: command rejected for maxtrack on 5.25" DD drives

I usually avoid ebay for such things: too expensive. The ones i use now are part of old machines i use ( retrocomputerist ;-) ), and i'd like to avoid putting them into italian mail system hands. Though these drives comes up from time to time on the flea markets i visit almost weekly (usually mounte...

Re: command rejected for maxtrack on 5.25" DD drives

If you mean that jumper settings could be the coulprit, maybe... here are the status of jumpers on one of these DD drives: ID jumper set to DS1, UA/DA set on DA MS/MM set on MM TM set (closed) RY unset (open) I see no other switches, and don't have the faintest idea on what these are as i don't have...

command rejected for maxtrack on 5.25" DD drives

Hello, i have tried my three 5.25" DD drives with the kryoflux device, all of them work and are able to dump disks, but none of them reports the correct maxtrack when i run "dtc -c2": the heads move, but then i get a "Control command rejected by the device" error, and maxtrack=0. I have tried the sl...

Re: Dumping 2-sided C64 disks

ouch, i was hoping for a simple switch ;) still, might have a look at the drives, to see if there is some room left in the rails and try to get them back manually. By the way, with catweasel it's possible to ignore index pulse check on some 360k drives and perform sector dumps of c64 flippy games. I...

Re: Dumping 2-sided C64 disks

Is there any way to check if a drive is able to reach track -8 using dtc? i have a little pile of 5.25" drives here, recovered from disparate dead hardware, might be worth a try.
