Re: Control command rejected by the device

this happens to me as well if I power on my dumping line to quickly. So, if I connect the KF board to my PC and right after that power on the disk drive, I'm getting the same result as the OP.
If I give it some time between those steps (maybe half a minute to 1 minute) it works.

Re: C64 dumping

Pete´s site is a great source for copy protections. I usually check there what -i flag to choose.
Ultima 4 should be fine with -i6, I think.

Re: Modded drive, how to read in one pass?

dtc -p -b-8 -f"c:\kryoflux\gamename" -i0 -y -g2 -i6 -t20 -l8 looks good. The only thing you'd have to change depending on the copy protection you are actually dumping, is the second -i flag. The first -i0 is mandatory for creating the raw stream files (IFW can explain this more precisely, I think)....

Re: Modded drive, how to read in one pass?

It did step back to -8, but im alittle worried about the "Control command rejected by the device." Hehe, I was also worried about this after dumping my first disk with my modded drive. So I asked the one that did the mod for me (Cheers! :D ) and he told me not to worry. This is normal behaviour. I'...

Re: Modded drive, how to read in one pass?

Hello. I finally managed to get my Pansonic drive modded... It did backup a C64 disk correctly and ran fine under WinVICE, but my concern is that it only dumped one side of the disk.... I thought the disk drive mod allowed for both sides to be dumped? Right. But you have to tell the software (dtc) t...

Re: New user here with a few questions

Although I'd like to see more KF boards beeing sold, I recommmend to buy a zoomfloppy. I think it's the best solution for you.

afaik, KF is not able to write d64. Not sure about 'normal' g64 images that are spread over the www.
KF can write g64 images created with KF, though.

Re: Write stream to disk

afaik you can't write stream files back to disk.
You can write ipf, adf or g64 images back, though.

dtc -h for help

Re: C64 Jack the Nipper (Cyan loader)

I dumped Rick Dangerous (Firebird) yesterday. According to this quote from October 2012 it should work. The newly, "officially" supported protection list is: Cyan loader (weak bits) Datasoft custom (weak bits) Datasoft cbm (weak bits) Melbourne House/Martech (weak bits) Data Duplication PirateBuster...

Re: former used commandline not working anymore?

All right. I did some fiddling here and there and the result was: nothing worked anymore. Always got 'can't open firmware' or 'command rejected by device' or something like that. So I did a complete new Kryoflux setup. Uninstall driver and then reinstall the latest package. And guess what: Yep, it's...
