John, I assume you're actually trying to "install" the .inf file. This is purely a driver, so please try by finding the "correct" device, e.g. Bossa device, and then chose to change driver, have disk and so forth.

A little more explanation including a screenshot or two might help.

Since the additional signal needed to turn on the bypass makes use of one of the odd (1, 3, 5, 7 etc.) cables which are usually grounded, adding another, unmodified, drive to a flippy setup will cause this operation to fail. I have no experience with PC Jr. and PSI files, but does the format itself support non-standard data, violations of the recording scheme? If yes, then probably the software used for conversion does not present the scheme violations in a way expected by the program.
