DTC is not the right tool to create data, it's meant to ingest (and outgest) as needed.

Hence you will need to prep a raw stream with the correct formatting which can then be written.

I'd say this is normal. I think it has to do with aligning the platter on the spindle motor. Since it starts before the clamps lock it in place, it can actually slip into position very precisely. We have several drives that do this.

Might be the drive in your BBC or the floppy drive you use to write disks are misaligned. This would explain why you can read the disk with the drive you used for writing. Can you check alignment?
