Re: Dual format ST+Amiga floppies write

I have several IPFs that'll write and work fine, so called Amiga-ST dual boot disks (if I remember these are Thalion games). So in a nutshell... yes, this works and it's not something special if we're looking at this from the encoding perspective. The "magic" is how to lay out and format t...

Re: Kryoflux in AUR (Arch Linux) - conflict with dtc

Option 3 isn't realistic as the GUI is at the end of its life-cycle and upcoming versions will have a native GUI. Judging by downloads etc., the Linux user base is microscopic, which means we need to look into/work on other versions first. The current situation with manual and GUI in the archive isn...

Re: KryoFlux dead on arrival? (fixed — flash erase jumper preset to closed, on delivery)

Sorry, we can't have everything in the Quickstart and it references the main manual. I have apologised for the jumper not being in the correct position. But we can't iron out someone forgetting a jumper. This is case 3 in 10,000. Apologies again, but people make mistakes. No harm done, setup took a ...

Re: KryoFlux dead on arrival? (fixed — flash erase jumper preset to closed, on delivery)

Sorry to hear. Maybe it helps to see this in perspective... all boards are hand packed by real people. Usually this jumper is open, at least it has been for 10K+ units out there. But we know of now three instances where apparently someone got the packing wrong and closed the jumper. I assume it fell...

Re: Should I keep my .raw files after I get a good image?

Especially if you don't know for sure... keep the raw streams. Hence our recommendation.

Re: Should I keep my .raw files after I get a good image?

We keep them. Always. It's what's on the disk, not just some rendition of it.

Re: TEAC FD-55BR doing weird noise when calibrating with Kryoflux

To avoid a common misunderstanding. This calibration is to calibrate the software side so we know the max. track and don't try dumping more tracks than the drive is capable of. To test this KF will tr and reach certain tracks and stop, when it sees there is no more head movement. So testing a 40 tra...

Re: How to use the Kryoflux system to format a blank floppy disk ?

DTC is not the right tool to create data, it's meant to ingest (and outgest) as needed.

Hence you will need to prep a raw stream with the correct formatting which can then be written.
