Re: Automatic track alignment

We'll, if you can transform this into an ADF - do exactly that and write it back to disk. Problem solved. Otherwise you'll need to create a tool or script to read a track from the RAW file, find the gap, rotate the data, and write it back as a RAW file. You can then write the RAW files with KryoFlux.

What is the reason you're so keen on using a 360k drive? Why not use an HD one? Especially since reading is what's required...

Re: The streaming device reported missing index - no disk in drive

The answer is quite simple: if you just want to read "something" you could probably ignore the index and start sampling for as long as you think a track will take to make a full revolution plus some margin. However, KryoFlux is a device that was built for precision. So if you want to use a...

Verrry nice. I had such a machine myself, although my heart was always with the Commodore machines... so we ended up have a more on and off business type of relationship.

Re: Problem with writing disks back to FDD

Better be safe than sorry; again, no problem as long as it can be declared fair use. And I am sure you'll find ways to transfer the actual data. Also, please share info and shed light on the protection itself.

Re: Problem with writing disks back to FDD

Please, we'd like to avoid any discussions about piracy and stuff. We all know it's old software but the law is different. When people post their personal data in public, it's one thing (I would not do either). But commercial stuff can cause trouble. If it's just a track to outline something, this c...

Re: Problem with writing disks back to FDD

If the format is known, you could e.g. turn this into a sector dump file and then convert back to RAW. This process will re-align the track data to start at the index. Or you could write a script to detect gaps and rotate the raw file data as needed.

Re: Dual format ST+Amiga floppies write

I have several IPFs that'll write and work fine, so called Amiga-ST dual boot disks (if I remember these are Thalion games). So in a nutshell... yes, this works and it's not something special if we're looking at this from the encoding perspective. The "magic" is how to lay out and format t...

Re: Kryoflux in AUR (Arch Linux) - conflict with dtc

Option 3 isn't realistic as the GUI is at the end of its life-cycle and upcoming versions will have a native GUI. Judging by downloads etc., the Linux user base is microscopic, which means we need to look into/work on other versions first. The current situation with manual and GUI in the archive isn...

Re: KryoFlux dead on arrival? (fixed — flash erase jumper preset to closed, on delivery)

Sorry, we can't have everything in the Quickstart and it references the main manual. I have apologised for the jumper not being in the correct position. But we can't iron out someone forgetting a jumper. This is case 3 in 10,000. Apologies again, but people make mistakes. No harm done, setup took a ...
