Re: Does format guiding really work for CT raw image?

This is a separate product aimed at Institutions, Archives etc., and comes with a very different price tag. You can contact us for a quote, but again, it's pro software.

Re: DTC Linux build vs. Windows build?

There's a detailed changelog included with releases, just compare. In general v3.00 is more advanced, including the processing pipeline. However, there are no bugs in older versions that would give bad data where the new one would get you good data (at the flux level). However, all pipelines are con...

Re: Kryoflux Flippy Disk Preservation Commands

mis: 8 (missing sectors) bad: 8 (bad sectors) A missing sector is automatically bad, but not all bad sectors are missing. Thicker horizontal lines indicate a weaker signal with timings ok to good, whereas needle-thin lines are prefect, with very exact timing. The disk is not bad at the flux level, b...

Re: Floppy drive selector board

KryoFlux supports two drives only, and if someone approaches us, we _recommend_ only one device at at time. This is "ancient" technology; the more devices there are, the higher the chance that - for whatever reason - certain devices will cause static/noise on the bus. The bus works as an open collec...

Re: Issue converting stream files

Such characters work as modifiers for the underlying OS and it's file system handling. You should refrain from everything that could collide there. It's intentional that DTC does not filter these as depending on OS, certain characters can be used as wildcards etc.

Re: No flux reversal found

Could be:

a) broken cable (index signal) or weak connection
b) disk not sending index - no hole
c) bus driver damaged by voltage spike

Please try with other drive and media.

Re: Why is there a limit on retry counts?

Exactly. Cleaning should be done by a human being, not by scraping the surface with 1000 retries. ;)

Re: Does format guiding really work for CT raw image?

There is data beyond AmigaDOS (e.g. "garbage" in the gap) and if it's prepped to work as a protection, which is either violating recording rules (which would trigger an ADOS error) or by placing meaningful data in non-data areas (as outlined: e.g. the gap) then this is possible. There is no way to a...

Re: Selected floppy disk image is damaged or unformatted

There exists an IPF for this title which means the technology has everything to represent the protection. It might be that there's some specialty to the disk that will fool the emulator.

Has the disk been dumped with AmigaDOS as a guide format? Do you see any errors reported?
