Re: Strangeness when creating MFM image files

I managed to find the problem. I'm normally using the CLI but I switched to the GUI for a change. I noticed I edited the KF RAW dump template and it was set to 40 tracks instead of 80. That then corrupts files on the MFM image as I suspect its creating the image from those KF raw files right?

Strangeness when creating MFM image files

Hi all, I've been dumping a few disks lately and I've found some strange problems. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on the matter. Seems randomly at present as I cant recreate the problem on demand. When dump 1.44mb floppy disks I use the parameters: 0: KryoFlux stream files, preserva...

Re: Alley Cat Booter problems

Thanks for the details. I think it might be easier to locate a 360k drive and use that instead.

Re: Alley Cat Booter problems

Thanks for the reply as always :)
Yes, writing in a 1.2mb Drive but forcing 180k single side write. I think you did mention this before but why is it not reliable?

What do you mean by degaussing? Format the floppy as 180k fords under msdos?
Cheers,

Hi all, I'm trying to get Alley Cat booter working on my IBM 5160 XT. I've got a KF copy of the original booter and i've written it to a floppy with dtc. It boots fine on my IBM 5170 but not on my 5160 ?????? I've tried a cracked version and it does the same on the IBM 5160 so I don't think its due ...

Re: POLL: Problems KryoFlux under MacOS

I think the main problem here is the devteam don't see us Mac users important enough or too few to fix the problem. This has been said in many posts. It's a shame because in the end we are all users on all platforms and in the end all we are doing is trying to preserve old software using paid for ha...

Re: Help dumping Novell Netware 2.15 Gendata floppy

From all these Gateway Communications G/net Netware disks, I've got 3 which I can't dump. That was one of them. The others seem worse but I can image them using ImageDisk (with errors). The rest are fine. I've been cleaning my drive too. So not a dirty drive. Must be the disks. Good to know I'm goin...

Re: Help dumping Novell Netware 2.15 Gendata floppy

Do you think ImageDisk is more accurate than Winimage? and better to use for these cases?
