Re: Use as normal A: drive

Just adding my 0.02p's worth to this thread... Being a disabled person, it would be easier if I could use my Kryoflux board which has a 3.5"/5.25" combi floppy drive to any PC to read/write DOS disks when the internal floppy in the case decides to give up the ghost. So for something like this it wou...

Re: Generic FM and MFM write support?

Just wondering if there has been any progress with generic writing support via DTC? The reason I'm asking because I'm a dsabled guy who has to rely on other people to help me with putting working floppy drives in my PC which I use with Omniflop to write disk images for use with my BBC computers. My ...

Generic FM and MFM write support?

Hi Kryoflux Gurus,

Will generic FM and MFM write support be added in a later release of DTC, as this would be handy for writing sector images back to disk for trying software on a real machine instead of emulators, since some pieces of software needs the hardware for it to run.

Re: Mini Office II

Hi IFW,

Yes, I meant was the zip file ok that I uploaded. I'll re-dump the Mini Office II disk in 80 track mode and re-upload it.

Re: Mini Office II

Hi IFW,

Thanks for letting me know the disk dump was ok :) Was there any data in the last 2 tracks as these should contain the CONVERT program, but none of my floppy drives will read them.

Re: Mini Office II

Hi Bill,

IPF's are created by the SPS team which analyse the data streams from the STREAM format that DTC produces. I don't think there will be a direct way to create IPF's from DTC itself as IFW or mr.vince will explain in better detail why it's not possible.

Re: Mini Office II

That's where we need BeebEm to support IPF's as they would be 1:1 perfect dumps from original disks.

Re: Mini Office II

That's why i get a "Bad Sector" error when I dump track 1 using 128 byte sector size because you can't specify different sector sizes within a track. Maybe this is another feature that would be useful to add to DTC so you can select multiple sector sizes within a track when you dump a disk. BBCMicro...
