Re: New 8" drive

How about 5-1/4" hard sector diskettes? No special drive necessary to read them, just software capable of handling the extra index pulses. I would be glad to send you media if that's the sticking point.

Works fine here on Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) system.

Re: 8" floppy drives work!

Another question: are you connecting the drive to the pc via the same adaptor you use for KryoFlux? In other words: is everything hardware exactly the same, drive+disk+adaptor. Drive, yes. Disk, yes - I thought I explained that what I sent you was a valid Imagedisk capture of what Kryoflux was unab...

How many retries do you specify when imaging a disk?
For sector images? I tried as many as 12 with no improvement. For the archival dump, I simply used what I was told to:

dtc -foutput.file -i -i2

Re: Half height twin floppy drive

After imaging quite a few of my BBC Micro discs with a 5.25" Mitsubishi M4853 floppy drive which decided to give up the ghost on me. At the moment I'm trying to get a 3.5" and 5.25" half height twin drive working with the Kryoflux device, but no luck so far.... Some of those dual drives have oddbal...

Re: 8" floppy drives work!

- Submit the stream files and the image made on other equipment Just to re-iterate it must be the exact same disk and the exact same drive used. Ideally a few (at least 3) disks should be imaged and submitted this way so I can take a look and see if there is something that could be improved upon, s...

Re: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found

Well the ideal solution of course would be for DTC to become open source, then it wouldn't be a problem :-) I investigated further and it looks like only the memcpy() function is pulling in the 2.14 dependency, and there's a way to override it. I have set it back to 2.2.5 (the same version as all t...

Re: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found

Well the ideal solution of course would be for DTC to become open source, then it wouldn't be a problem :-) To comment on this before it becomes the major subject of discussion. We would love to do that but for many reasons not an option right now. That's the way it is. Personally, I don't care if ...
