Re: Support for larger sector sizes/2M images

Have there been any developments on this? A friend of mine found several big boxes old floppies of his and is hoping to save their contents, so I'm looking into them. It turns out many of them are in these formats. Track 00.0 is normal, the rest isn't. One variant has 11 sectors of 1024 bytes. That ...

Re: My Kryoflux box

A bit late with a reply but yes, I did modify the data cable by cutting one of the lines. I cut it inside the far end connector where it doesn't show, and the 3.5" drive can be connected while using a flippy mod. From memory I'm pretty sure that it was the second last line counting from the marked o...

Re: New user here with a few questions

I thought the double-hole sleeved floppies were the only way, anyway. Or can Kryoflux write flippys now?

Re: IPF creation and disk writing via Kryoflux

Yes, it was a fluke. I played for some time without running into any issues, but I suppose they were just slow coming. Today the disk didn't even boot on the first attempt, and prompted for the real game disk fairly soon afterwards after second boot. Perhaps a real ipf will eventually see the light ...

Re: IPF creation and disk writing via Kryoflux

I tried this tool with my original-release Dungeon Master. This got me something that appeared to fail in WinUAE, but to work in my Amiga when written to a disk.

Well, that surprised me.
I guess I have no point. Carry on.

Is it possible to combine flipped dumps?

A C64 floppy was giving me many errors. I tried increasing the retry count and cycles on the problematic tracks, but that only helped a bit. Then I noticed that the floppy has two index holes so I decided to try it upside down, and it worked much better that way. There was still some trouble, but re...

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

The list could use information on whether the 5.25" drives are suitable for writing DD, for G64.
How does the popular Panasonic JU 475-5 fare? Should I look for a 40-track drive instead?

Re: closing questions (but it works great)

OK, but do I have to "unload" it? Yesterday I have just disconnect in this order (vice-versa): 1. drive to kryoflux 2. usb to kryoflux 3. power to drive . Is this the exactly way to disconnect after working (e.g. writing ADF's?) That was for connecting it, immediately followed by: when done, discon...

Re: Some noob questions

Also remember to observe the correct order of connecting things, or you risk damaging your board:

1. drive to kryoflux
2. usb to kryoflux
3. power to drive

when done, disconnect in inverse order.
