Re: How do I properly save Classic Mac floppies?

From the histogram view all tracks look decent, tho it's not apparently very clear at first, but you can inspect the data more closely using the scatter plot in the GUI. http://www.softpres.org/kryoflux:ui:stream-plot Shareware systems disk actually has few bad sectors at the last tracks, visible as...

Re: A few small schematic improvements

Don't know who's responsible for the revisioning or if there's going to be more to come as the next evolution of KF has been in the planning and that would utilise a completely different hardware.

Re: Write a Mac 400/800K sector image using Kryoflux

Hey ZrX. Thanks for checking again. Yes, I used DD disks. The drive ejected them right away and showed the crossed out disk icon. Finder could not read or mount them either, but gave me the option to initialize it. That's what I did, to see if there are any errors. Usually the mac checks every sect...

Re: Thank you!

Enjoy your shiny new disk dump. :)

Dumping Amiga HD disks should work using the same parameters that were used for dumping Amiga DD disk.

Re: Problems (probably me)

Sounds like there's something wrong with either the drives stepper motor or the track 0 sensor.

Try to get access to another drive and possibly another flat cable to test where the error might be. Tho the cable is probably the one that came with your KF.

Re: Problems (probably me)

With a single drive it really shouldn't matter which connector it's plugged into. Everything also seems to be correct. If the drive is repeatedly stepping in and out before maxtrack value is displayed then it should come up with a valid value. But if it just knocks the head shortly before maxtrack=0...

Re: Write a Mac 400/800K sector image using Kryoflux

Hm, I have to revisit my code at some point. I too got unformatted errors when redumping the remade disks, but the disks did work ok on three Mac SEs.

You wrote it back to a DD floppy and not HD?

Re: Workflow to modify a standard floppy

dtc -m1 -f%TDIR%\3xxx -i0 -f.\3xxx.img -i4 -e79 should work.

The manual has more examples.

Re: G64 with mastering information?

The "problem" with Vice, as the devs checked out yesterday, is that disk viewer while opening a disk image doesn't really analyse the content and just assumes track 18 to be at the correct track.

Re: Drives confirmed working with KryoFlux

Yes, there are different models of MPF-920. Can't remember if it had Z after the model on those drives that can step up to 83.
