Re: Help with Lexitron SSSD dump

You can't get any data decoded because the disk is in a non-standard format.

This is as much I could manually decode. As the checksum routine is unknown there's no knowing if the data is ok.

Re: Help with Lexitron SSSD dump

The format is 35 tracks, 18 sectors per track, 256 bytes per sector and single sided MFM.

Still somewhat custom format, non standard syncs and checksum seems nonstandard aswell.

Not really being fluent with german language it's difficult to find where to look. :)

Re: Help with dump QNX 1.2

Main issue is that the tool has no user control over any of the functions other than a compiler. Look into some MFM disk sector layout? Change things in the source and compile. Extract the raw bitstream from a GCR coded track? Change things in the source and compile. Try some error recovery techniqu...

Try if writing these shows any improvement.

Re: Help with dump QNX 1.2

Was able to decode all the raw dumps with my tool.

Some bad tracks/sectors on dosfsys_ but they were unused.

But some of the disks show really bad issues of not spinning properly.

Re: Weird disk format

The dump has the same data on both sides so you should flip the disk over to read the other side. As the drive only has single head KryoFlux will read the same data for both sides without flipping the disk. But the format itself is a really weird one. A single 1024 byte sector seems to hold 4 256 by...

Re: Motorola VERSADOS 5.25" FD imaging

have been trying and get everything (16 MFM 256 byte sectors) except side 0 first track using MFM. the ones in green seem to be virgin sectors from original disk formatting and written sectors have artifact data in formatting headers even using FM on this S0T0 yields nothing except a mismatch error...

Re: Dumping Help

Yup, it's a protection.

The track has 10 sectors instead of 9. Header states the last sector is #0, the usual 512 bytes but only has 256 bytes of data "DEM012345678 + some extra bytes" and a bad checksum.

Re: Dumping and Emulation Issue

Matter of perspective. How the disk is built vs how the controller sees the disk.
