News update?

It's been a while since any status update was posted on the SPS or Kryoflux web sites.
Could you please share some information around your current activities and progress?
I'm curious about where the project is headed, what keeps you busy, what features you may be working on.
Thanks!

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

What is preventing SPS from releasing IPF of these games? Is there any way we can help?

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

Another request: could you post the list of Amiga and Atari ST versions of Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back that have already been dumped and submitted to SPS for preservation? I submitted some dumps last week (along with other versions for Japanese systems, Apple IIGS), but I wonder which vers...

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

If I understand correctly, that means you would store the "normal" sector data (using only bytes of value $68 for each byte containing a fuzzy bit, which is the intended data as proven by the CRC that is correct when using such values). Then you would implement a specific function for Dungeon Master...

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

Back to the topic of Dungeon Master: how would you store information about the sector containing the fuzzy bits in an IPF file? I know there are no IPF images yet for any Atari ST or Amiga versions (except Amiga v3.6 that is not copy protected). And I know the answer is probably somewhere in the sou...

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

Jean, I tried your your new version of KFAnalyze, and it works fine. I also made graphics with ploticus and they look great. It is really nice to be able to visualize graphically the way fuzzy bits are created on the DM floppy disk.
Many thanks again for the tools you build around kryoflux!

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

I have disassembled and analyzed the game routines for copy protection and they do check for fuzzy bits only in 489 bytes, starting at the 21st byte in the sector. However, it is unlikely that the fuzzy bits in the first few bytes would really be detected as fuzzy because the flux transitions are pr...

Re: Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.e

Thanks for your reply. However now I don't understand how dtc can produce the disk image without having to simulate the FDC behavior to interpret the flux transitions and output even the normal sectors (without fuzzy bits or any other timing tricks)? Could you elaborate? or maybe that would be far t...

Dungeon Master for Atari ST disk image produced by dtc.exe

I have dumped an original floppy disk of Dungeon Master for Atari ST with kryoflux (using the 2011-09-23 dtc.exe) and have a question about the content of the resulting disk image. I used the following command line: dtc.exe -fDungeonMaster -i0 -i2 -fDungeonMaster.st -i4 This produces a disk image in...
