Re: Error writing Kryoflux stream

hi I just compiled the newest version of HxC. And wanted to write an STX file to disk. Well, hxcfe does not work. I help myself by first converting to ST and then to RAW (is usually fine if there is no fancy copy protection) This can happen when you use a dev/work-in-progress version. :D Anyway thi...

Re: Howdo I dump emax 1 disks to sdcard?

I recently purchased a kryoflux and have successfully backed up my E-Mu SP1200 disks to sdcard for use with my HxC floppy emulator. It works great. I am interested in doing the same with my Emax 1 disks. I don't know how to configure the kryoflux GUI to generate a viable image. Any Ideas? If you wa...

Re: Help with preservation of arcade system

Track 79, side 1, sector 205 is also 512 bytes, but it only has default formatting values. Not sure about this one. Here it appears as a 1024 bytes sector with a 512bytes size ID as the others sectors. Data CRC is E5E5 (the default format data value), no visible write splice at the 512 Byte data pa...

Re: Two beginners questions!

Pure speculation, but this is maybe a write precompensation issue. The converted raw timings are not modified (yet) with the write precomp. Is the HxC disk analyser showing you the same thing (Track view button-> Disk view) I presume that the KF DTC doesn't pass the stream to a write precomp circuit...

Shouldn't be a problem.
Which FDC is used ?

Re: IMSAI 8080 shugart 8" SSSD CP/M floppies

Ok got the second stream archive. Here is some analysis done with the bitrate.txt tweak : http://hxc2001.com/disks_analysis/IMSA14_22/2d/ the afi files can be converted to IMD/IMG. http://hxc2001.com/disks_analysis/IMSA14_22/2d/IMSAI14B_track00.0_raw_afi_small.jpg http://hxc2001.com/disks_analysis/I...

Re: IMSAI 8080 shugart 8" SSSD CP/M floppies

The second is your non-original IMSAI CP/M 1.4 disk as read by your NEC drive. As you can see everything is squished. Since there is no way to override the bit rates in HxC, its sampling algorithms "overload" and mark most of the sectors as bad. A normal floppy drive will also be mostly unable to r...

And if you want to visualize what is going on, here are some pretty graphs of your disk content created by the HxC Disk Tool. Which, by the way, would be a powerful tool if it wern't so crashy. You should use the latest version ;) : http://hxc2001.com/download/floppy_drive_emulator/HxCFloppyEmulato...

Re: ARBURG

It would be very useful if you could submit a few disks, so I could take a look. As for cloning a disk without knowing its format: it will be available very soon and will work as long as the drive used is physically capable of correctly reading and writing the disk to be cloned. Which is far to be ...

Re: Does Kryoflux have write support tor Emu EmulatorII imag

Which is - of course - why the format was at the same time very well documented and given to third party developers so they could make their own sample disks and stuff... This sampler was released in 1982... far from the "open source", "gpl" and "third party developers" idea. And we are talking abo...
